In 2024 it will already be 10 years since the very first Scheepjes CAL. Scheepjes is celebrating this with no fewer than four new projects. What's extra special is that you can crochet or knit all these projects! So you can go for a Crochet-A-Long (CAL) or Knit-A-Long (KAL). The Dawn Chorus CKAL Experience is a tribute to the most beautiful songbirds.

After the beautiful Goldcrest Scarf (item no. CKAL2024-GC) by Martin Up North and the Blue Tit Cushion (item no. CKAL2024-BT) by Liz Barraclough, it is Esther's turn from It's All in a Nutshell. She designed a wonderfully warm and beautifully colored blanket for the third kit from Dawn Chorus CKAL, the Bullfinch Blanket. The blanket is inspired by the bullfinch and the pattern is suitable for both beginning and intermediate and experienced crocheters and knitters. You knit or crochet the blanket with an enormous Limited Edition Scheepjes Mega Whirl yarn cake in join-as-you-go motifs. The beautiful Mega Whirl with a gradual color gradient has a running length of almost 3 kilometers! In addition to the yarn, the kit also contains a number of nice extras.

The Scheepjes CKAL Bullfinch Blanket kit contains the following materials:

1 x Scheepjes Mega Whirl (60% cotton and 40% acrylic) of 666 grams with a running length of 2998 meters

1 x fabric bag

1 x set of 3 postcards

The crochet and knitting pattern is available for free via the Scheepjes website in Dutch, English (UK & US) and German and via the official Scheepjes Facebook groups. Of course, you will also need knitting or crochet hooks and accessories for both versions. These are not included in the kit. For the crochet version these are:

1 x crochet hook in needle size 3.00mm

And for the knitted version:

1 x pair of knitting needles with button or circular knitting needle with needle size 3.25mm

1 x Stitch Marker Ring

1 x stitch marker with closure

When the blanket is ready and stretched, the crochet version will be 100 x 140cm and the knitted version will be 110 x 150cm. Each kit is packed in a sturdy black cardboard box with white print measuring 22 x 22 x 14cm. Supplied per 1 piece.
